I've met 2 famous people. Emmylou Harris and Garth Brooks.
Apparently, Emmylou was my neighbor several years ago (I didn't realize it at the time). I was out walking, and, she drove up looking for her lost cat. We talked about cats for a while and how sad it was to lose a pet. She was just a nice, regular person.
It's a long story, but, Garth Brooks did a very nice thing at the hospital where I used to work. He is a fine man for that act alone.
Anyway, I happened to be in the parking garage when he was leaving, and, I waved (as we do here in the South) not realizing it was him. He stopped to talk to me! It was just us, and, I had nothing intelligent to say. I was trying so hard not to act like a fan that I was damn near mute. He did sign a napkin for me, though.
Can no one in this house leave me alone for 2 seconds?!?!!
It's bad enough that I have "Get This Party Started" by Pink on my brain, but, I seem to have installed it as "Get This Starty Parted".
I may be showing my age here, but, I love the Mitford Series books by Jan Karon.
I don't know if people typically refer to them as "life-changing", but, they allow me the fantasy of living a much simpler life. Like Seinfeld, they may be about "nothing", but, sometimes it's nice to read books that don't give you sensory overload, and, they may even give you a nudge to think about the priorities in your life.
